Breakthrough! 1300-Year-old Lord Vishnu Temple Found In Pakistan

If we talk about the things we lost during the partition post the Independence, it would be a very sad tale. Pakistan once altogether was part of the Indian Province under the British rule. That night when the partition happened, so many people from the other side of the border were forced to choose a side and stick to that. Millions of people lost their lives during the event. Along with the people, a humongous amount of history, especially the history of the Hindu religion was lost. The fate of some of the most precious and ancient Hindu temples has been affected the most. Hundreds of Hindu temples were attacked, and the ones that were renowned as the vital ones were completely ignored to time ruining them. A surprising found has happened two days back in Pakistan. A group of researchers discovered the ruins of a Hindu temple in the famous Swat Valley.

With carbon dating, they discovered that the temple might be somewhere around 1300 old. Experts believe that this holy place was constructed in the times when the Hindu ruling was there and it might be a temple of Lord Vishnu. History hints that it could be the Kabul Shahi dynasty which is also called the Hindu Shahi dynasty who built it. The region of the remains is the ancient Gandhara which at present is in the North West of India.

This temple along with some other Hindu remains was discovered in this major excavation. Further details reveal that a minaret to protect the temple, an ancient camp to accommodate soldiers with a pool of water is also seen. The Italian archeologist who led the procedure mentioned that this is the first time, a temple of Gandhara civilization is unearthed in history.

Earlier, hundreds of things that are older than a thousand years were found at the valley, but, this is the first time a temple is discovered, there were also a couple of places where Buddhism is worshipped.
