Kumar Sangakkara’s Advice To MS Dhoni After CSK’s ‘Bad Time’ IPL 2020

Kumar Sangakkara is absolutely one of the most celebrated batsmen of the early twenty-first century. The former skipper of the Sri Lanka cricket team made some interesting comments on Indian skipper MS Dhoni. Sangakkara believes that Dhoni has to play some seriously competitive cricket to make it up to the magnificence he generally carries in every IPL. We all believe that Maahi must get back in form for the upcoming IPL season of 2021.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK), despite being so many people’s favorites, the Gentlemen’s team couldn’t make it into the playoffs this year, and Dhoni didn’t perform as of what is expected from him generally. The 3-time trophy winners have been knocked out of the tournament after being unable to bag enough points and win enough matches. The team bid adieu to the IPL 2020 after winning the last three matches they played against the Kolkata Knight Riders, the Royal Challengers Bangalore, and the Kings XI Punjab.

One of the major reasons behind CSK’s bad results is its skipper MS Dhoni being away from international cricket for more than one and a half years. The last time the skipper was seen is the 2019 World Cup, where India couldn’t make it to the finals. The skipper wasn’t even seen in the other International series.

People had mixed opinions on Dhoni’s performance at the IPL, however, Sangakkara has his. He is seen saying, “He will, of course, be disappointed with his personal form but with only 2 games to go, I don’t think there is any point in trying to salvage that. It’s about winning games. He can address it after he goes and comes back next year.”

The former skipper further added, “But what he has to do is to play some more super-competitive cricket in between. You can’t have long gaps between your IPL seasons, not playing international cricket, or not playing regional or first-class cricket. He has got to be super competitive and play competitive cricket to be in form.”
