Indian Politics is one of the most fascinating things in the whole world. The kind of complexities, grandeur, and the number of prospective leaders, and so many other things justify why elections in India are quite a thing. Well, we can’t expect anything lesser from the world’s largest democracy. There were a number of situations when the leaders from other countries have passed comments on the way India is doing politically.
Today, the former President of the United States of America, Barack Obama has joined the list of commentators. He created an awkward situation both for Rahul Gandhi and his mother, President of the Indian National Congress, Sonia Gandhi. In a recent book published by Obama, he described the character of Rahul Gandhi as a weak one, saying that he is a novice and naive, and Sonia Gandhi chose to make Manmohan Singh the Prime Minister of the country, instead of Rahul, believing that he isn’t a threat and Sonia Gandhi took that decision with good foresight.
Obama in his book wrote, “Not one but a number of political experts believe that Sonia Gandhi chose Manmohan Singh because he chose Manmohan Singh as PM without political support, which could be a threat to the 48-year-old Rahul Gandhi.”
He spoke about the dinner event that was hosted at the residence of then PM Dr. Manmohan Singh where Sonia Gandhi was seen speaking on the policies and schemes in the country in a very cautious way making sure if there is any difference of the opinions. Obama labeled Sonia Gandhi as quite a smart person, added that she is a very sharp-witted leader. He described that Rahul Gandhi looked just as beautiful and enthusiastic as his mother, and mentioned that he also discussed his election campaign plan of 2008.
Well, so far, nobody has made any official statements on the same, let us see how the congress leaders will react.
